Please Help...

When I first found out I was pregnant with twins, I started to visit a message board specifically for moms of multiples. During my long, traumatic pregnancy, I met several wonderful people who helped me through. Seriously, if it weren't for that message board, my girls might not be here today - they gave me the idea to ask for an ultrasound of their fluid the day my doctors were going to let me go into labor.

Anyway, we are a close knit group of women (heck, we're even having a get together in Charleston one weekend in April). One of the women, Brook - who's girls are just a few weeks older than mine, recieved some terrible news. Her twin daughters Sydney and Carynne have been diagnosed with the most severe form of Werdnig-Hoffman disease. Basically their lungs are going to slowly give out because the muscles will not be able to help them breath anymore.

So please, click on the button below to donate what you can to a fund for Brook and her family. They are spending all of their time at the hospital right now, just being with their girls. The ladies on the message board have started this fund to help the family out and hopefully provide things such as food, gas and even a professional photographer during this terrible time.

  1. I will keep Brook in our prayers and hope that all will work out for them. I have made a donation and I hope this helps.

  2. Thank you for sharing this here and on the boards. I hope the donations help at least a bit, during such a difficult time for them.

  3. I saw where you possibly want to get a professional photographer for the family. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a group of professional photographers nationwide that take pictures in the hospital or out of families who have just lost or are going to lose a child/children. They provide their services free of charge. Here is their website.. http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/home/

I lost one of my twin daughters and wish I had know about this organization. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about them. Thought this might help.

  4. I found your blog a couple of days ago and have been reading your older entries to "catch up." This entry might be my last though. I realize the "fat bitch" made a stupid comment to you about your twins but, was it necessary to call her a "fat bitch?" My sister has twin girls. Oh, the stupid comment we hear, including people insisting they are NOT twins. Hilarious. Many of the comments are made by skinny bitches, but we don't say that. Signed, a fat reader
