4 Month Appointment cont..

I did a quick post and run last night, before really getting a chance to talk about the girls' entire 4 month check up. Natalie is doing great, catching up to Audrey. There is only a one ounce difference between the two now; though Natalie is a 1/2" shorter. Dr. Song wants both girls to be rolling over by their appointment in April. She also gave us the go ahead to start rice cereal, though I think we're going to wait until around 5 months.

Audrey, on the other hand, had been referred to a specialist at Kidnetics. For some time, we've been worried about her having Torticollis. If you look at her pictures, you will see her head is always tilted to one side. This has left her head mishappend. Torticollis is very common in multiple pregnancies, and Audrey spent 5 months lodged in my pelvis with her head tilted a certain way.

The good news is that Torticollis is correctable, and easily so with infants. She will possibly need to wear a helmet for a month or two, like the ones below.

I just wonder why Magneto's parents didn't fix his earlier!

Bryan and I have been searching for the perfect family car for us. His little Saturn is just not the best for us right now, and we are going to give it to his sister Jennifer. We think we've found the winner, and can't wait for our tax returns that SHOULD be here this weekend.

And instead of ordering the extra car seat bases for the girls' infant carriers, we went ahead and upgraded to their "big girl" car seats. These are the Britax Marathons, which will last until they are a whopping 65 pounds!

  1. Hi - I don't know you but follow your blog, and I just wanted to let you know that my sister-in-law is a physical therapist who works with babies with torticollis all the time. It is definitely treatable! It sounds like the girls are growing and doing so well, and I'm glad to hear you and your husband have worked things out (it seems from your posts).

  2. hey i'm so glad for you. the carseats are cute. we have another big one for keeley, but we're scared it wont fit between us in the F150. umm. so she's stuck in her other seat for now. She's got a few pounds to go, so no big deal, but still. we'll have to change vehicles sooner or later. i was just hoping for later..

  3. My son had plagiocephaly and had to wear one of those helmets. I was so worried at first that we were going to get funny looks from people...but it wasn't that bad. His head is perfect now. It was definitely worth it. He is now almost four and you would never guess that he ever had a flat spot in the back of his head.

By the way...your girls are both so cute!
