Inaugurated into Mommyhood

Tonight, I was inaugurated into mommyhood. The girls and I had just returned from dinner, and I was feeding them their dinner (peas and banana/berries). All was going well until Natalie took the very last bite of peas. She held them in her mouth, puffed out her cheeks, and promptly decided she no longer wanted to eat them. So instead of pushing them out of her mouth, she let her gag reflex kick into overdrive.

The next thing I know, she is spewing a green and purple fountain ala Exorcist. I would not have been surprised if her head turned around a time or two, either. The fallout range included her entire body/clothing from head to toe, the bouncy she was sitting in, Audrey's pants and the bottom of her bouncy chair, my pants, shirt and hair, the cat, and five feet of carpet. I swear it looked as if Barney the Dinosaur blew up in the living room.

The moment she was finished, she was giggling and all smiles. Of course, I was slightly freaked out - as was the cat. Needless to say, tonight was bath night!

  3. Oh yes, you really don't know what you've been missing until you've been puked and peed on.

  5. I know exactly how you feel. My daughter did that about a month ago with bananas. The exact same thing, took the last bite and didn't want it. Gagged ALOT, and then vomited at least 3 times (projectile). I couldn't believe she had so much in her. It seemed to be at least 5 times the amount I had just fed her. Needless to say she has not had bananas since (I am too afraid to feed them to her anymore! Plus they may make me gag now!)

I have yet to experience the spewing w/my little guy - but I've certainly had to duck and dodge countless "raspberries" with a full mouth of a veggie he decides he doesn't like
