I'm going to try playing around with fondant this summer, because I'd really like to make them a cake like this (minus the silly princess crown - I'm not a queen, therefore they are not princesses). I also like the little cupcakes for their smash cake.

With a nifty birthday banner

Of course they need the perfect outfits to attend their party in:

With bibs to eat their cake:

And what party is complete without presents??

Does anyone know how to get the Pottery Barn Anywhere Chairs for a really good discount? We have a PB Outlet near that I might check out.
EDIT: The bib and puzzle are from etsy.com - they just so happened to be in Audrey's name :)

Oooo I want to learn to use fondant too. I saw a butterfly cake I wanted to try for our little one's bday with the fondant(she's only 4 months..lol)
ReplyDeleteAwesome planning you are doing!- They will have a wonderful birthday!!! I have seen some cute little kids chairs at Target too.. but they aren't embroidered :(
I have been planning too- Everything is too cute!!! We are doing a rubber duck theme with pools and things. I already got yellow suits in! Where did the puzzles come from?
ReplyDeleteThere is an ebay seller who makes the inserts to fit PBK chairs for much less $$. I know a few people who bought the cover from PBK and the insert from ebay.. they were all happy with how it turned out! I dont know the seller but I bet it'll come up easily in a search.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - did you get an email from me to get added to your private blog? sara.mastandrea@gmail.com
Please tell us more about your adventures with fondant. I am thinking about experimenting with it myself.
ReplyDeleteThat cake is super cute! I suggest checking out cakecentral.com. They have tons of cakes, and how-to information. They also have recipes and such for fondant. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteSomeone just asked me about our PBK chairs and I noticed they are currently on sale. My ILs bought ours and my MIL took the covers to a local place to have the names monogrammed onto them (for super, duper cheap).
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the planning!

3 months isn't that bad. I'm planning and I still have 4 and a half months. :o/
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I was just wondering where where you found that name puzzle!? ETSY? it is too cute!
I'm wanting to plan lil love's party too! I want a pettiskirt =) And love the cupcake idea. And fondant, how fun, I should try to learn that! Check out bakerella's blog for fabulous cake ideas, she does a cupcake pops, yum.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the puzzles from?
Ok, sooo you wanna plan my birthday party for me too?! Haha.
ReplyDeleteLove what you have planned! Your girls are so lucky. :)
We bought our pottery barn chair inserts on ebay (they are new and actual PB ones, not knock off) and the cover from pottery barn. Much cheaper!
ReplyDeleteI'm super organized and like to have control of everything. I start planning my girls birthday like 8 or 7 months early.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of fondant. Would you please explain how I could do that? Thanks
Have a great week.
Cute! I love all that stuff! I esp. love the pink/white polka dot PBK chair with my daughter's name on it - you shouldn't have! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm already thinking about DD's party, but I guarantee that I won't start planning until October 8th (her b-day is the 10th). I'm the world's worst procrastinator.
Oy.
I was at the PBK outlet by my parents (Rockvale Outlets - Lancaster, PA) and they have the chairs there. I know you can call the store, pay over the phone and have them mail your order to you (because I've done it before!). I know they had violet, but I don't remember what other colors.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try and make Brooke's cake as well, we will see how it turns out! Also, I am getting Brooke a puzzle JUST like that with her name. I am pumped.
ReplyDeleteLove those bibs. Where are they from?
ReplyDeleteI KNOW THE DRESSES!! check them out here: http://www.bullfrogsandbutterfliesboutique.com/store/Default.asp
ReplyDeletewhere do your girls toys come from? the only toy we found that would even seem reasonable at walmart scares the bejeezus out of our girl, its an inflatable penguin with balls in the belly that you can bop at it and it pops right back up. she played with something similar at a playdate, but she hates this. everything else she has is a small thing you shake, rattle, etc. she doesnt have ANY big girl toys. help! meeces.pieces@gmail.com
