Outlet Shopping

My mom and I had planned to go outlet shopping on Sunday. The outlet mall near us is about 45 minutes away, and we had planned on leaving around 1:00, after church let out. Well, she decided to do lunch with her friend, so the girls and I tagged along as well. They got their first real taste of french fries and had some of my turkey sandwich. Apparently, Audrey decided she did NOT like her lunch and yakked it all over the car on the way to my mom's house (to pick up a coupon for 20% off at Carter's).

I quickly took my stinky child inside and gave her a bath. My poor mom wiped down the car. My sister loaned Audrey a sweater that looked like it would fit a 4 year old (the dangers of drying cable knit on high). All was well in the world, so we headed to the outlet mall.

We really only went into Carter's, and spent almost two hours there before the mall closed. For around $100 per child, we were able to get them an entire Fall/Winter wardrobe in 12 months AND a Spring/Summer wardrobe in 18 months. Everything in the store was at least 50% off, but most of the Spring/Summer items were under $3 each. On top of that, we had the 20% off coupon!

We're just bumming around this morning. We're going with my mom to the Gaffney Outlets (where they have a Carter's, Osh Kosh and Stride Rite). Then this evening we have a birthday party for Daniel & Grace.

SproutBaby

I was given the wonderful opportunity to test and review a new line of organic baby food by SproutBaby. The food line was created by celebrity chef Tyler Florence (he grew up around here and went to my rival high school).



I love the flavors SproutBaby offers. I know my girls probably get tired of the same ole' squash and green beans that I usually offer. They really enjoyed the Oatmeal with Roasted Cinnamon Applesauce and Baked Sweet Potatoes & White Beans. Of course I tried them and they were very yummy.

I also like that the foods are certified organic. I had vowed to always make their foods, and, well - I have two babies to chase after, and organic produce is expensive.

I think my favorite thing was the packaging. They are packaged in resealable pouches in order to reduce the waste of their product, and to reduce the energy consumption of manufacturing and transporting. I found the packages to fit better in my diaper bag, and didn't have to worry about breaking glass jars.

Some Updates

Somehow I forgot to do Wish List Wednesday yesterday. Ooops! I have a lot of things on my plate right now, and can't seem to clear them off fast enough. It also doesn't help that I may or may not have become slightly (ok, highly) addicted to the silly game FarmVille on Facebook.

I really need to get on the ball planning the girls' birthday. I have a little over one month until my babies are no longer babies . I need to figure out what time to have their party on Saturday, October 3 (any suggestions??), what food to serve, where to fit 25 or so people and so much more.

Natalie Crawls!

Hip Hip Hooray! Natalie is crawling! She has shown absolutely no intrest in crawling for the past 10.5 months. In a span of two days she went from geting on all fours, rocking back and forth, and now is a crawling pro. Bryan had the girls drag racing on the rug after toys yesterday.

Bryan and his mom took the girls to the pediatrician today. Audrey weighs 17.19 lbs and Natalie weighs 17 lbs. That puts them around the 5-6th percentile for their age (down from the 13th from their last appointment), though the doctor didn't seem to be too concerned. They are also both 27" long. She was impressed with their vocabulary, waving, clapping and shaking their heads NO. She also said not to worry about Natalie and standing - that she is physically able to stand, but her content personality just doesn't care to.

I've been bed and couch bound all day with strep throat. I haven't had this since grade school, and boy does it suck! My throat is so swollen I can't even talk or eat. It stinks not being able to play with the girls, but I'm so happy my mom was able to come over and take care of them.

Party At My Crib

Most days that I great ready for work, the girls start waking up as I am about to leave and my mom shows up. But sometimes they wake up super early and I have to entertain them, while trying to get myself ready. I usually just toss them both into Natalie's crib with some toys, and they laugh and giggle.
