Christmas!

So I braved Toys R Us this evening, and boy did it look like a battlefield. I really am quite glad I didn't go last night, because this afternoon it was still busy, so I can't imagine what it was like at midnight last night. I did end up getting the rest of the girls' Christmas presents. With coupons and sales, I spent $100 total for both girls - not too shabby!

Black Friday

My mom and I foolishly headed to Toys R Us around 11:30 last night. We knew they opened at midnight, but were in NO way prepared for the craziness! The line was wrapped completely around the parking lot and stretching almost to the mall across the street. So, obviously we didn't want to stand in the cold, we headed to Walmart. There were already people stalking the sale items, waiting for 5am to purchase them. I picked up a Busy Ball Popper for the girls, some shampoo and Benadryl and headed home.

Did you brave Black Friday? Did you get what you wanted?

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. I can't believe how big my girls are now compared to their last Thanksgiving.

And didn't my turkey look wonderful? I wonder if she'd fit this year :)

(Natalie is still running a fever and has a runny nose. Audrey seems OK as of now, hopefully she won't get as sick as her sister)

I hope to make it through today alive. I'm sick, the girls are sick, Bryan is at work. Natalie wants nothing more than to lay on me with her drippy nose, and Audrey is mad because she wants "na na" to play with her. This is the first time they've really been sick and know that they are sick, and it isn't any fun.
And apparently, my children think the nasal aspirator should be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment.

For Sale!

I've got two toddlers for sale, and they are buy one get one free!

It all started last night. Around 10:00, I hopped on the couch and decided to get a few minutes of reading in before bedtime. I had just taken two Nyquil for my cold, and was prepared to get a full night's sleep.
Nope. My children had other, devious plans in mind. Around 10:30, Natalie woke up crying. And of course as soon as I picked her up, I turn around and saw Audrey standing in her crib about to wail. So I rocked the two of them together for ten minutes, and plopped them into bed. Cue crying.
Rock. Put in crib. Cry. Rock. Put in crib. Cry. This went on for FOUR HOURS.
Around 1:30, I admitted defeat and brought the both into the living room. I gave them each a sippy of milk, we watched a few cartoons, and they were pretty happy to climb on me while I tried to sleep. Finally, they were both yawning and I was able to put them into their beds without fighting.
I slept blissfully until 5:40 this morning when they woke up...for the day. And they weren't very happy campers, either. I left for work with a house full of strewn, torn diapers, crunched up Cheerios on the floor, and a half jar of Vaseline that they were able to pry the lid off of and devour.
My students may or may not be watching a video today. And making hand turkeys (gobble, gobble).

Hands down, my favorite picture from yesterday!
Audrey: "Girl, I know you ain't sittin' on my butterfly, fool."
Natalie: "HALPS! Mommy!!!! I wanna stay on my butterfly!"

Victory is MINE

Can you tell it was close to lunch time?

My cute little girls

It is somewhat funny - but Natalie (long legs) and Audrey (long torso) wear both 12 months size, except Audrey's pants are always way too long and too big in the waist. That is why I love these pants that are also capris. Natalie wears them as pants, Audrey as capris.
