Going back and reading my resolutions from last year, I’ve decided I need to make mine a bit more practical for this year. I mean, joining a book club? Finding “me” time? Obviously I didn’t know what it would be like to work full time and have two toddlers – ha! I did stick to a few resolutions, like joining my UMOM club. Now if only I could make it to all my meetings…
1. Finalize my divorce – I am 100% completely satisfied with this decision. I have done everything within my power to make amends, and have realized you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change. I also understand my girls and I are much happier and less stressed now than ever before. So cheers to this!
2. Take graduate courses – now before you go saying “how in the world will she ever do this with two toddlers” – I HAVE to maintain a certain amount of recertification credits to be a teacher. And my certificate expires next summer so this is a necessity. I already have my first course set up to start in February.
3. Go to my UMOM meetings – I mean, it is only once a month. Surely I can find a sitter!
4. Start the 30 Day Shred and watch what I eat – oh yes, Jillian Michaels, you naughty thing. I plan to spend 30 minutes a day with you. Stress and boredom have always caused me to eat more, which is why I gained almost 20 (yes, 20) pounds since this summer. And I need to shed this because…
5. I will go on a cruise this summer. By myself. And it will be fabulous.
