Work, Work, Work

I swear, this weekend FLEW by. Saturday afternoon, Eddie & I were able to get to work on my backyard while the girls played. I wanted to fix it up a little before our fence is installed this Thursday (yay!). The back patio is now in great condition - the chairs are fixed (they needed some welding) and spray painted a new color to match the cushions & umbrella; a new bench was built to hold the cushions & various toys the girls collect; a hummingbird feeder was put up; and I finally chose & ordered the girls' swingset.








And that was just Saturday before 6 pm! Eddie & I went out to The Cazbah in Downtown Greer for dinner. It is probably one of my favorite tapas restaurants. I love being able to order 2 or 3 small plate meals and just have a food explosion in my mouth.




Sunday was spent going to The Barnyard flea market. Don't laugh - but I'd never been to a flea market before. I ended up getting some cool Star Wars stuff. Afterwards, we did a little yard work and I cleaned up the house before the girls came home.

I'll be out of town this coming weekend, so I really felt the need to get a lot of stuff done this weekend. Now I get to "rest" Monday - Friday, haha!

Garden Bench
Swingset (I read reviews that this one really holds up well, and you can sell it for a good chunk of a "bigger" kid swingset a few years down the road - and I don't have to worry about maintenance, splinters from wood, or rust from metal).
The umbrella is from Academy Sports

Saturday

We've had a very busy Saturday, and it's only after 1 pm. We went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and to play, hit up a yardsale, shopped at Target & Oldnavy and then came home to play outside with Me-Maw & Pe-Paw.











While the grandparents were here, Eddie & I snuck off to Home Depot to pick up some stuff for outside. My total back yard make-over begins this weekend - and I'm SO excited to finally have a functioning, good looking yard!

Well, we're gearing up for another busy weekend. I feel like Monday-Friday is a rush to get to work, get home, play outside, eat dinner, bathe, and get into bed. So I love my weekends - and we still keep busy. We're always go-go-go!

Random Ramblings

* I had the fence guy come and give me a quote yesterday. I had greatly over-estimated how much my fence would cost me - score!

* Natalie's sleeping is still an issue. I'll be putting her in a bigger girl bed (twin sized) in the next few days. My back is killing me from laying on the floor to get her to sleep, and she usually ends up in my floor in the middle of the night anyway.

* I'm obsessing over Easter dresses for the girls. The past two years, they've only worn their dress once. I want to get them a dress that doesn't have bunnies or lambs, and that they can get a lot of wear out of. I'm some what in love with these, but don't know how "Easter-y" they are. They are from dbjcharleston.com, which I love to order from because I can get great quality smocked clothing for a lot less.




* Now that I know my fence will cost less than I budgeted, I'm excited to look for other things to compliment my backyard. Like cushions for my dining set, an umbrella, maybe even a storage bench.

* I'm very nervous about leaving my girls next week to go to my middle school conference. I'll be leaving Friday after work, and not returning until Sunday. It will be the furthest I've been away from them (physical distance), and I hope everything goes well. They should be staying with their dad, but I know my parents are here in town in case anything should go wrong (which it shouldn't).

* I have Spring Fever. It was very hard to come back after President's Day.

* My kids are cute, lol

We had another beautiful day outside yesterday. As soon as I got home from work, the girls were ready to go out and play. Since my yard isn't fenced in (yet - it will be soon!), my mom is terrified of taking them out by herself. Mainly because they like to run in two different directions! We played outside for almost two hours, before I had to head back to school for curriculum night.

Dolls & Tutus

I'm so happy to be home today for President's Day. I get to pretend I'm a stay at home mom, and play with my girls. This morning, we played dolls and dress up. Shortly, we are meeting up with some friends at the park. Such a great day!

Oh - and this is how their hair looks when I blowdry it at night. We didn't have enough time between baths and bed for their hair to air dry. Natalie especially looks like a fuzzy poodle.

Shopping Trip

We packed up the girls (a full car!) and went outlet shopping yesterday afternoon. Or I should say...we took turns watching the girls on the outdoor playground/grass area, while one of us ran into a store and made a mad dash purchase. For some reason, my children do not seem to enjoy shopping as much as I do. I'm thinking of doing a maternity test - because surely they can't be mine!



We played a lot of Ring Around the Rosey



And I was able to pick up a cute Fall shirt, Holiday tunic & leggings with matching bows, and bathing suit at Gymboree for each girl - with a grand total of $52 spent.







Though I will say that I bought some of the CUTEST leggings and tops today at Walmart for $3.50 each...not on sale. Very basic colors that will carry us through Spring and into the Summer. I really can't justify spending $20 on just a shirt that my girls will wear a handful of times.
