The Royal Wedding & Colonial Teapots

Today in class, we are making colonial teapots (as part of our year end review). I ordered these from the Art in History website (they have fantastic projects for every era in History), and the kids have really enjoyed creating them. And since today was the Royal Wedding, we've been able to watch the coverage while painting. It was a great way to tie in British Royalty & customs, with our American Revolution.

First, we painted the teapots white…

And finally we put on a finishing glaze.


All in all, they’ll make a perfect Mother’s Day gift….since some are such masterpieces that only a mother could love!

Going Away Party

Last night, we headed to my friend Courtney's house for a going away party for our friend Lori and her daughter Kate. They are moving several hours away from us - and we're going to miss them greatly. We ate an excellent dinner cooked by Courtney's husband, Chad. The girls had such fun playing with each other.

Hoppy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter yesterday. Sadly, I'm back at work today. I just keep reminding myself that I only have 5 weeks of work left.

Anyway, we spent Easter in Black Mountain with my grandparents and extended family. It was the first time Eddie has met most of them. I think everything went very well, and the girls had a blast playing with their cousins Shelby, Lily & Ellie.

Easter Egg Hunt

Today, the girls joined their friends Kate & Riley for an Easter Eggstravaganza. We had a delicious cook-out, dyed Easter eggs, and had a hunt.

Babies No Longer

It is 100% official - my babies are babies no longer. We converted Audrey's crib into a toddler bed yesterday - and she slept the entire night in it, just fine.

Spring Break

Spring Break has been great so far. We've done story time at the library, play time at Chick-Fil-A, and lots of playing outside. I'm going to hate going back to work, but so happy I'll only have less than 5 weeks left before I'm out for summer.
